The client is the Hellenic Parliament which, after an international tender, commissioned an experienced Bosch professional equipment contractor with many years of experience to supply and install all the required equipment.
Purpose
The Hellenic Parliament wanted the creation of an application in the Greek language for the management of the timer for the duration of MPs' speeches, the registration of speakers and the operation of electronic votes.
For the selection of iBS as the chosen company for the implementation of the desired applications in the Greek language and their operation through Bosch Dicentis Multimedia devices, it had to meet the following specifications:
- Previous experience implementing software for Bosch professional equipment
- Ability to design applications on Android and Windows operating systems
- Ability to train and guide MPs in the use of the new system
Solution
300 Bosch Dicentis Multimedia devices were installed by the project contractor in the seats of the plenary session of the Parliament and connected to the central server (Server) for their operation through the Bosch Meeting Application and Bosch Synoptic.
The iBS implementation team implemented a Windows application for the central management of all equipment: the results display screens in the plenary room, the stenographers' computers, the connection to the timer and communication with the Bosch Meeting Application. The operator gained the ability, with the push of a button, to determine what will be displayed on the results display screens and also on the Parliament channel.
The iBS implementation team also designed and implemented for Bosch Dicentis Multimedia, an Android application for the registration of speakers and the voting of parliamentarians in the Greek language. The progress of speaker registration and voting is displayed in real time on the system operator's screen, on the board's screen and optionally on any other screen decided upon. At the start of speaker registration and voting, Members of Parliament declare their intention to participate using their magnetic card by swiping it at the Bosch Dicentis bearing unit.
After the end of the electronic voting process, the detailed results are displayed on the screen of the system operator, on the central screens of the hall and on the computers of the Legislative Function department.
