MyWebCMS End of Support, Important Security Update

MyWebCMS Ver 6.5 as well as all previous versions are no longer compatible with the latest security protocols.

This is not a change to the software itself, but a mandatory security update for the versions of the programming tools used to implement it. The only updated version of website and online store content management software that is compatible with the latest protocols is WordPress. Specifically all sites that still use the MyWebCMS and especially those who use the former ControlPanel 2011, run the following risks:

• Using legacy PHP code to run forms
• HTML EDITOR of an old version that may allow the execution of malicious code

Possible consequences

Increased possibility of entering the database or file system to execute code to send mass email messages or temporarily stop the website from working by viewing the hacker's own pages

Suggested solution

Switch – upgrade to WordPress CMS. If the option to upgrade to WordPress is not qualified then it is recommended to keep an up-to-date backup (backup) and to thoroughly check the website or online store for the following threats:

• CSRF, Cross-site request forgery,
• SQL Injection
• XSS, Cross-site scripting
