The customer is the Municipality of Athens that appointed, after a contest, to an experienced contractor of Bosch professional equipment, the supply, and installation of the required equipment.
The Municipality of Athens wanted to install and operate an electronic voting system in the Greek language in order to optimize the procedures for voting by municipal councilors. The iBS Information Systems Ltd. as the selected company for the implementation of the desired applications and their operation through the Bosch Dicentis Multimedia devices had to meet the following specifications:
- Previous experience in implementing software for Bosch professional equipment.
- Previous successful installation and operation for an electronic voting system.
- Experienced management of specific features and requirements for the operations of the Municipality of Athens.
On the benches of the Municipality of Athens, 60 Bosch Dicentis Multimedia devices were installed by the contractor and were connected to the main server for their operation through Bosch Meeting Application.
The development team of iBS, also installed to the Bosch Dicentis Multimedia Devices an integrated software application for electronic voting. The administrator creates the votes and after the president’s order, activates them. Municipal councilors declare their intention to participate by using their magnetic card in their respective Bosch Dicentis unit.
After the completion of the electronic voting, the detailed results are displayed on the system operator’s screen, the main screens of the hall, and the computers of the Legislative Operation department. In addition, authorized application users can generate statistical reports, print them, or export them to CSV files for further analysis of the results.
